Terraria is the 2D adventure game by Re-Logic, full of digging, building and boss fights. We run Terraria servers with tModLoader, the free modding version that anyone who owns Terraria on Steam can install. That lets you play with mods, from small tweaks to big expansions like Calamity.
Which version does my server run?
Terraria itself got update 1.4.5 on 27 January 2026. tModLoader is still working on the move to that version; until it is done, tModLoader runs on the Terraria 1.4.4 base. So your players connect with tModLoader, not with regular Terraria. In the Startup tab you choose the tModLoader version; by default it is the latest.
How many players and how much RAM?
Your server has 8 slots by default. Without mods, our smallest plan of 2 GB is enough for a group of friends. Big mods load lots of extra items, enemies and bosses, and that costs memory: choose CupCake 4 GB or Cake 6 GB, and BIGCake 8 GB for a long mod list. Want more than 8 slots? Open a ticket and we will check what your plan can handle.
What can you change in the panel?
In Startup you choose the world name, the size, the difficulty, a password, the server language and a welcome message (MOTD). Mods go into the mods folder. To bring an existing world, upload its .wld file to saves/Worlds and set World Name to the file name without .wld. Make a backup first, so you can always go back. How that works is in Create and restore a backup.
