ARK: Survival Ascended is the remade ARK by Studio Wildcard, built in Unreal Engine 5. You survive on an island full of dinosaurs, tame them and build a base together. On your own server you decide how fast you tame, harvest and gain experience.
Why Premium only?
ARK in Unreal Engine 5 is heavy for a server: a large map, plenty of tamed dinos and big bases all cost processor time and memory. That is why we only host ARK: Survival Ascended on the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X, with DDoS protection through Cloudflare Magic Transit. That protection is no luxury either, because a public ARK server stands out in the list.
How much RAM does your ARK server need?
Our plans start at 16 GB: MegaCake 16 GB for a tribe or a small community. If you use lots of mods, play on a big map or more players join, pick GigaCake 24 GB or TeraCake 32 GB. You can move to a bigger plan later without losing your world.
Can console players join, mods included?
According to the ARK wiki, a server without extra settings accepts players from every platform: PC through Steam or the Microsoft Store, Xbox and PlayStation 5. Want PC players only? Limit it with -ServerPlatform in the extra launch options. Mods come from CurseForge and work on consoles too, as long as they were made for crossplay. Find them in the Mods tab or add the IDs under MOD IDs; the server fetches them and their updates on every start.
What else can you set?
In Startup you choose the map, PvE or PvP, the maximum number of players, BattlEye and automatic updates. Taming, harvesting and experience rates go into GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini through the file manager. Make a backup before big changes; you get 2 backups per server, made by you or on a schedule. Prefer the original ARK with mods from the Steam Workshop? See ARK: Survival Evolved server hosting.
