Why does single-core speed matter?
A Minecraft server works out most of its world on a single core. The Minecraft Wiki says a server typically uses three cores at most, which is why good single-core performance matters more than anything else. One fast core beats a pile of slow ones.
You notice it when things get busy: lots of players online, big farms, heavy redstone or a modpack with hundreds of mods. We have not run benchmarks of our own, so we will not throw percentages at you.

What is a Premium game server?
A game server on our fastest hardware: the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X or 9950X. You get the same game panel, the same backups and the same support as on Standard, but more CPU power per plan.
Will a small group notice the difference?
Often not. A few friends without heavy mods are usually fine on Standard. The difference shows with many players online, big farms or a modpack with hundreds of mods. Not sure how much RAM you need? The server size calculator works it out.
Do I get my own processor?
No. Your server shares a machine with other servers. Your plan sets how many CPU threads it may use at most, so everyone keeps enough power. The specifications page explains how that works.
Why is ARK: Survival Ascended Premium only?
ARK: Survival Ascended is a demanding game, so we only offer it on Premium. See the ARK plans.
Can I move from Standard to Premium later?
Yes, with a new server, because the lines run on different machines. Order the Premium plan, move your world over with a backup and then cancel your Standard server. Our guide Create and restore a backup shows how.
