Who is a Assetto Corsa server for?

An Assetto Corsa server is for sim racers who want to practise and race together, and for leagues with a fixed calendar. For your calendar and results, add a league website with web hosting. Our web hosting comes with DDoS protection through RoyaleHosting, with more than 6 Tbps of capacity.

Setting up your Assetto Corsa server

Just ordered? First steps after your order shows you how to get into the game panel. To change the settings in the Startup tab, see Change your server settings under Startup.

  1. Step 1: Enter your Steam login

    You download the server files with a Steam account that owns Assetto Corsa. In the Startup tab, fill in the Steam username and password (with Steam Guard, also the code under Steam Auth Code), then choose Reinstall Server in the Settings tab.

  2. Step 2: Set a name and passwords

    In the Startup tab, fill in the server name, a password if you want one and an admin password.

  3. Step 3: Choose cars, track and sessions

    In the server’s configuration files you choose the track, the cars and the sessions. Put your own cars or tracks on the server with the file manager or SFTP.

  4. Step 4: Connect

    Search for your server by name in the Assetto Corsa server list and connect.

What does an Assetto Corsa server need?

Assetto Corsa is the racing simulator by Kunos Simulazioni. With your own server you run practice sessions, qualifying and races with your friends or your league, with the cars and tracks you choose, including custom content from the community.

How many cars fit on your server?

The number of cars on track does not depend on your plan, but on the track: your server can’t allow more cars than the track has pit boxes. Most official tracks have 24. Which cars race is set in entry_list.ini, the maximum in server_cfg.ini.

How much RAM do you need?

An Assetto Corsa server is light. Muffin 2 GB is enough for an evening of racing with friends. Running a full grid or lots of custom cars and tracks? Choose CupCake 4 GB; Cake 6 GB gives room for a league with lots of content.

Why your own Steam account?

Steam only releases the Assetto Corsa server files to a logged-in account that owns the game; anonymous downloads don’t work. Fill in your Steam username and password in the Startup tab, with Steam Guard also the code under Steam Auth Code, and then choose Reinstall Server in the Settings tab. Preferably use a separate account.

What else can you set?

In Startup you fill in the server name, a password and the admin password. Track, cars, sessions and weather live in the configuration files. Custom cars and tracks go onto the server over SFTP; your players need exactly the same content.
