FiveM server hosting

FiveM server hosting at CakeHosting starts at €4.95 a month, including VAT. You build your own GTA V roleplay server with txAdmin, your own scripts and databases for frameworks like ESX or QBCore. On Premium your server comes with DDoS protection through Cloudflare Magic Transit, and for a public roleplay server that is no luxury.

Standard or Premium for FiveM?

A FiveM server with a handful of scripts runs fine on Standard. A busy roleplay server with lots of scripts benefits from the faster cores of Premium.

Who is a FiveM server for?

A FiveM server is for roleplay communities and groups of friends who want their own GTA V world: their own city, their own jobs and their own rules. For whitelist applications, rules and city news, add a website with web hosting. Our web hosting comes with DDoS protection through RoyaleHosting, with more than 6 Tbps of capacity.

Setting up your FiveM server

Just ordered? First steps after your order shows you how to get into the game panel. To change the settings in the Startup tab, see Change your server settings under Startup.

  1. Step 1: Create a licence key

Create a free server key in the Cfx.re portal and enter it in the Startup tab under fivem license.

  2. Step 2: Choose your version and txAdmin

In the Software tab you choose the FiveM version. Turn on Enable txadmin in Startup if you want to manage your server through txAdmin, the FiveM admin panel.

  3. Step 3: Create a database

If you use ESX or QBCore, create a database in the Databases tab and put its details in your server configuration.

  4. Step 4: Connect

Start the server and, in FiveM, type connect address:port in the console (F8), or find your server in the server list.

What does a FiveM server need?

FiveM is the multiplayer platform for Grand Theft Auto V by Cfx.re. You run roleplay servers and custom game modes on it, with scripts called resources. Every player needs a legally bought PC copy of GTA V and installs the free FiveM client on top.

How many players can a FiveM server handle?

With OneSync, FiveM’s networking layer, a server can have up to 48 players for free, according to the Cfx.re documentation. Want more slots? Link your licence key to an Element Club subscription from Cfx.re. You set the maximum number of players in the Startup tab.

How much RAM do you need?

That depends mainly on your resources, not just on the number of players. A bare server or a small city runs on CupCake 4 GB or Cake 6 GB. A fleshed-out ESX or QBCore server with lots of custom cars, maps and scripts belongs on BIGCake 8 GB or SuperCake 12 GB, and for a big city with lots of players there is MegaCake 16 GB.

What do you manage in the game panel?

In the Software and Resources tabs you choose the FiveM version (artifacts) and manage your resources. In Startup you enter your licence key, the server name and the number of players, and turn txAdmin on or off. Databases for ESX, QBCore or another framework are yours to create in the Databases tab. You edit server.cfg and your resources in the file manager or over SFTP. Before a big framework update, make a backup first.
