Satisfactory simulates your whole factory, and according to the official wiki the server leans heavily on single-core speed. A small factory runs fine on Standard; for big factories and train networks, Premium is the better choice.

A Satisfactory server is for groups who build one factory together but don’t always play at the same time. Without a dedicated server, nobody can continue while the host is offline. With one, everyone picks it up whenever it suits them.
Just ordered? First steps after your order shows you how to get into the game panel. To change the settings in the Startup tab, see Change your server settings under Startup.
After you pay, the server is ready. Start it in the game panel and wait until the console says it is ready.
In Satisfactory, open the Server Manager, add the server with the address and port from the game panel and claim it. You then choose a server name and an admin password.
Start a new world in the Server Manager or upload an existing save.
Your friends add the server in the Server Manager too. You set the maximum number of players in the Startup tab.
Satisfactory is the factory building game by Coffee Stain Studios. You explore an alien planet and build conveyor belts, trains and factories together. Version 1.0 came out in September 2024. On a dedicated server your world runs separately from the players, so nobody has to wait for the host to come back online.
According to the official Satisfactory wiki, a server needs 8 GB of memory, and 16 GB may be needed for larger saves or more than 4 players. Our advice follows that: start with BIGCake 8 GB, and choose SuperCake 12 GB or MegaCake 16 GB once your factory grows into a train network across the whole map. Officially the game is made for 4 players; in the Startup tab you can raise the maximum if you like.
Players on Steam and the Epic Games Store play together on the same server. Satisfactory has also been on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S since November 2025, but there are no dedicated servers there, and playing with PC players is not possible. So a server from us is for PC players.
Most of it happens in the game: on the first connection you claim the server and choose a name and an admin password. In the Startup tab you set the maximum number of players, the number of autosaves the server keeps, automatic updates and, if you like, another branch such as the experimental version. You upload an existing save through the Server Manager. Always make a backup before a big update; your factory is too nice to lose. What to do first after ordering is in First steps after your order.
Build a civilisation together and save the planet before the meteor hits.
Survival and building in a world full of fog, with up to 16 players per server.
Your own Minecraft Java server for your friends or your community, with Paper and plugins. Pick Standard for a friendly price or Premium for AMD Ryzen 9 7950X and 9950X processors.

Under Startup in the game panel you change your server name, passwords and options. How it works, when changes apply and what to leave alone.
Every CakeHosting game server comes as Standard or Premium. How do they differ in processor, location and price, and when is Premium worth paying for?

How to connect to your server over SFTP in FileZilla or WinSCP: where to find the details, which port and username to use, and how to fix errors.
Use a schedule in the game panel to restart your server automatically, with a warning for your players, and avoid the time zone trap.
How to back up your server in the game panel, schedule automatic backups and restore a backup when something goes wrong.
Add the server in the Satisfactory Server Manager with the address and port from the game panel. On the first connection you claim it and choose a name and an admin password.
Officially the game is made for 4 players, and that is how the server is set up. You can raise the maximum in the Startup tab. More players also need more memory.
The official wiki lists 8 GB, and 16 GB for larger saves or more than 4 players. Our smallest plan has 6 GB; for most groups we recommend 8 GB as a start.
No. PlayStation 5 and Xbox have no dedicated servers and can’t play with PC players. Players on Steam and Epic do play together on your server.
Yes. Upload your save through the Server Manager in the game and load it on the server. Make a backup first if there is already a world on it.
Yes. Enter the branch name in the Startup tab, for example experimental, and reinstall the server. Your players then need the same version.
