Palworld server hosting

Palworld server hosting at CakeHosting starts at €8.95 a month, including VAT, for up to 32 players. Since version 1.0 a dedicated server has crossplay by default: friends on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac play in the same world. That world stays reachable, even when the host is offline.

Standard or Premium for Palworld?

Palworld leans on memory and processor, especially when lots of Pals are working in your bases. For a small group, Standard is a good start; for a big group or a world that has been running for months, Premium is the safe choice.

Who is a Palworld server for?

A Palworld server is for groups of friends and small communities who want to catch and build together, without one person having to keep the game open. With 32 slots there is room for a Discord community too, and thanks to crossplay your console friends simply join in.

Setting up your Palworld server

Just ordered? First steps after your order shows you how to get into the game panel. To change the settings in the Startup tab, see Change your server settings under Startup.

  1. Step 1: Set up your server

In the Startup tab, fill in a server name, a server password and an admin password, using only letters, numbers, - and _. You also set the maximum number of players there, up to 32.

  2. Step 2: Start the server

On the first start the server creates its files and settings. The console shows when it is ready.

  3. Step 3: Adjust the world rules

Stop the server and edit PalWorldSettings.ini, for example the experience rate, the capture rate and the death penalty. Then start it again.

  4. Step 4: Connect with your friends

On PC, enter the address and port from the game panel at the bottom of the server list. On Xbox and PS5, search for your server by name among the community servers.

What does a Palworld server need?

Palworld is the survival game by Pocketpair in which you catch creatures called Pals and build, fight and work with them. On 10 July 2026 the game left early access with version 1.0. Since then, players on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac share one dedicated server.

How many players and how much RAM do you need?

Up to 32 players can be on a Palworld server at once. Memory use grows with your world: more bases, more Pals and more explored land. The official server guide recommends 16 GB and warns that a server with 8 GB is more likely to crash from running out of memory. Our advice: BIGCake 8 GB for a small group taking it easy, MegaCake 16 GB for most groups, and GigaCake 24 GB or TeraCake 32 GB for a full server or a world that has been going for months. A scheduled restart, for example at night through Schedules in the panel, keeps memory use in check.

What about crossplay and mods?

Crossplay is on by default on a dedicated server. Console players can only join servers in the community server list; our Palworld servers start that way, so you are covered. Which platforms can join is set with CrossplayPlatforms in PalWorldSettings.ini. According to the server guide, server-side mods only work on the Windows version of the server, and our servers run Linux. So plan on a server without mods.

What can you change in the panel?

In the Startup tab you choose the name, the passwords, the number of players, a description and whether enemies may raid your base (bEnableInvaderEnemy). Everything else lives in PalWorldSettings.ini: always stop your server before you edit that file, or your changes get lost. More tips in Palworld dedicated server: crossplay, settings and RAM.

Frequently asked questions

How many players can join a Palworld server?

Up to 32 at once. You set how many you allow in the Startup tab of the game panel.

How much RAM does a Palworld server need?

At least 8 GB. The official server guide recommends 16 GB, because memory use grows with your bases and Pals. For a full server or a long-running world, choose 24 or 32 GB.

Can friends on Xbox, PS5 or Mac join?

Yes. Since 1.0 a dedicated server has crossplay by default for Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac. Console players search for your server by name among the community servers; ours are listed there automatically.

Can I use mods on my Palworld server?

No. According to the official server guide, server-side mods only work on the Windows version of the server. Our Palworld servers run on Linux.

How do I become an admin on my Palworld server?

Type /AdminPassword in the chat, followed by the admin password from the Startup tab. You can then kick or ban players and save the world, among other things.

Is my Palworld server protected against DDoS attacks?

Yes. Premium comes with DDoS protection through Cloudflare Magic Transit. On Standard, your server has standard DDoS protection from the data centre. If your server is public in the community list, Premium is the calmest choice.
