The game panel
You manage your game server in our game panel, built on Pterodactyl: starting and stopping, the console, files, backups and logins for your friends. It comes with every game server and Discord bot, at no extra cost.
What can you do in the game panel?
Everything you need to keep your server running. Baking the cake is up to you.
-
Console
Start, stop and restart your server and type commands. You see what happens live, including when something goes wrong on start-up.
-
Files and SFTP
Edit config files in your browser, upload a world and unpack zip files. Big files go over SFTP with a program like FileZilla.
-
Backups
Make a backup with one click or schedule it, and restore it when an update goes sideways. Lock a backup you definitely want to keep.
-
Schedules
Have your server restart every night, make a backup or post a message in the chat. The ready-made templates get a schedule going in no time.
-
Databases
Create a MySQL database for plugins that store data, such as an economy, a shop or a ban list.
-
Friends who help manage
Give a friend their own login and decide what they can do: just the console, or files and backups too. No need to share your password.
What extras do you get per game?
For a few games, the panel does more than the basics.
-
Minecraft
Switch version and server software, install plugins, mods and whole modpacks in one click, manage the whitelist, operators and bans, and create a colourful MOTD.
-
ARK: Survival Ascended
Install and remove CurseForge mods right from the panel, without dragging files around.
-
Palworld
Install and remove CurseForge mods in a tab of their own.
-
FiveM
Update the server artifacts and the game build, and open txAdmin in one click.
How do you get into the game panel?
The game panel lives at https://game.cakehosting.net. You log in with the same email address you use for My CakeHosting. With your first server you get an email to set your password; after that, every new server simply appears in the same account.
From My CakeHosting a button takes you straight to your server as well. The whole route, from invoice to first game, is in First steps after your order.

Frequently asked questions
Which game panel does CakeHosting use?
Pterodactyl, an open source game panel used by many hosts. We have added tabs to it, for example to switch the Minecraft version or install mods.
Can I reach my files with FileZilla?
Yes. Under Settings in the game panel you find your SFTP details: the address, the port and your username. The password is your game panel password.
Can a friend help manage the server without my password?
Yes. Under Users you invite them with their email address and tick what they are allowed to do. They log in with an account of their own.
How many backups can I keep?
That depends on your plan; most plans have 2. The number is on every plan card. A scheduled backup replaces the oldest backup that is not locked.
Do I pay extra for the game panel?
No. The game panel comes with every game server and every Discord bot, and so do the extra tabs for your game.
Ready to start?
Pick your game, and your server is waiting in the game panel once you have paid.
